Today we are finishing up restoring the bottom boards for the 16-foot trumpet profunda of the solo division. The chest and pipes will be completely restored along with the rest of the division at a later date. The trumpet profunda is the rank and chest that is focused on in the beginning of the video. This is to show the typical work conditions of organ maintenance! The final task before testing is to reconnect the wind line, which can only be accessed from crawling under multiple windchests. Since this division is within the right stage chamber, it has been running on its original 1929 leather, magnets, and wiring, meaning this division, although functioning, is littered with dead notes. That is why we have decided to restore these bottom boards, in order to have a dependable 16' reed in the division.
