Here we must be thankful to Mrs. Edith Brickman. She is the person who, anonymously, gave the money to restore this division. Alas, as Rodman Wanamaker never heard the organ completed, she has left us on June 2nd 2008. Rest in peace.
The ORCHESTRAL is a floatting division with Kimball pipes, under expression. Added in 1927-28, elle était destinée à reproduire les couleurs des pupitres à vent de l'orchestre (bois et cuivres), et contenait 7 rangs de Voix Humaine.
The restoration goes on : the division has a brand new chamber on the 4th floor on the right of the main case. Listen to Curt Mangell say a few words about it.
